Lucine Amara (born March 1, 1927) is an American soprano who was largely based at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.Īmara was born Lucine Armaganian in Hartford, Connecticut, of Armenian heritage, before moving to San Francisco where she was raised.She studied at the San Francisco's Community Music School under Stella Eisner-Eyn and sang in the chorus of the San Francisco Opera, 1945–46.
